Zero Carbon

The average server consumes about 2,000 kilowatts of energy per year, which translates to about 1.5 tons of CO2 emissions. If you factor in the other energy consuming elements of web hosting, such as routing equipment, lighting and cooling, this figure rises to about 3 tons. Adding to that the manufacturers and suppliers who do not offset their emissions, and you're probably looking at around 5 tons, per year, of CO2 emissions!

Ben's Hosting is dedicated to reducing its total carbon emissions to zero and, while a fully solar powered data center is the ultimate goal, we are using the services of Rainforest Rescue to offset emissions until that time.
